5. Who we share your information with

Lakeland Farm and Ranch will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to others. Lakeland Farm and Ranch will not share your personal information with third parties except in responding to your requests for products or services. Your permission will be requested when you submit your information. Lakeland Farm and Ranch shares customer information across Lakeland Farm and Ranch-owned business entities and companies working on our behalf, but only as required to meet your product or service requirements.

Lakeland Farm and Ranch occasionally may contract with third-party service providers and suppliers to deliver complete products, services and customer solutions. Suppliers and service providers are required to keep confidential the information received on behalf of Lakeland Farm and Ranch and may not use it for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for Lakeland Farm and Ranch. These service providers may change or we may contract with additional service providers to better accommodate our customers. Mobile information is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing. We do not send messages to opt in lists that have been purchased, rented, or shared with us. Your consent to receive messages from us is not transferable or assignable, and it applies only to the Lakeland Farm and Ranch messaging program for which you provided it.

6. Your Choices

Lakeland Farm and Ranch gives you the choice of receiving a variety of information that complements our products and services. You can subscribe to receive certain product- and service-specific information and Lakeland Farm and Ranch-wide marketing communications. Lakeland Farm and Ranch-wide communications may include new product information, special offers, or an invitation to participate in market research. We give you a choice regarding delivery of Lakeland Farm and Ranch-wide communications by postal mail, e-mail and telephone. You can make or change your choices at the data collection point. We will make every effort to honour your preferences. This option does not apply to communications for the purpose of administering order completion, contracts, support, product safety warnings or driver updates.

Text message choices. Where we offer text messaging, you choose whether to receive it, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, by calling or texting 1-866-443-7444, or by emailing info@lakelandfarmandranch.com. Section 11 below explains our messaging program and your choices in full. Opting out of text messages does not change your postal mail, e mail, or telephone preferences, and you can update those separately.

7. Your information and third-party companies

Certain Lakeland Farm and Ranch services are linked with those from unrelated third-party companies, some which offer you the option to share with both Lakeland Farm and Ranch and the third party personal data you provide. We will not share your personal information with those third-party companies unless you make that choice.

8. Access to and accuracy of your information

Lakeland Farm and Ranch strives to keep your personal information accurate. We have implemented technology, management processes and policies to maintain customer data accuracy. We will provide you with access to your information, including making reasonable effort to provide you with online access and the opportunity to change your information. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity, such as a password and user ID, before granting access to your data. Certain areas of Lakeland Farm and Ranch’s websites may limit access to specific individuals through the use of passwords and other personal identifiers.

9. Keeping your information secure

Lakeland Farm and Ranch is committed to protecting the information you provide us. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of the information, Lakeland Farm and Ranch has in place appropriate physical and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect.

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information. SSL encryption is designed to make the information unreadable by anyone but us. This security measure is working when you see either the symbol of an unbroken key or closed lock (depending on your browser) on the bottom of your browser window.

Credit card numbers are used only for processing payment and are not used for other purposes. As part of real-time payment processing, Lakeland Farm and Ranch subscribes to a fraud management service. This service gives you and Lakeland Farm and Ranch an extra level of security to guard against credit card fraud to protect your financial data.

Security of messaging information. We apply physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to the mobile numbers, consent records, and message content we hold, in order to protect that information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We test and monitor those controls, and we carry out regular risk assessments of the privacy and security practices supporting our messaging program so that reasonably foreseeable risks can be identified and addressed.

11. Text messaging (SMS and MMS) privacy

This section describes how Lakeland Farm and Ranch collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our text messaging program. It applies in addition to the rest of this Privacy Policy. Where this section and another section of this Policy both address text messaging, this section governs.

11.1 Our messaging program

Our messaging program operates under the name Lakeland Farm and Ranch Direct. Messages originate from our toll free number 1-866-443-7444, 1-888-330-9140 or may also originate from a local telephone number or short code that we identify to you at the time you sign up. Messages are sent by Lakeland Farm and Ranch Direct, and every message identifies us as the sender. We send three kinds of messages:

  • Conversational messages. Replies to a text you send us first, for example a question about a product, a quote, an order, or a delivery.
  • Informational messages. Updates you have asked to receive, for example order confirmations, shipping and delivery notices, quote follow ups, service and warranty updates, catalog requests, and account notices.
  • Promotional messages. Sales, special offers, new product announcements, and event invitations. We send these only where you have given us express written permission.

11.2 How we obtain your consent

We send text messages only to people who have opted in to receive them. Depending on how you sign up, you may opt in by entering your mobile number on our website, checking or tapping a consent box on a web or mobile page, texting a keyword to us, signing a paper or digital form at a trade show, dealer location, or point of sale, giving your permission verbally to a member of our team, or by texting us first and receiving our reply. For promotional messages, we obtain your express written permission, which you may give by signing a form or by checking a consent box online. Consent to receive marketing text messages is never required in order to buy from us.

At every sign up we tell you the name of the program, the number the messages will come from, that message and data rates may apply, how often to expect messages, how to opt out, how to reach us for help, and we link to this Privacy Policy.

Where you sign up for recurring messages, we send you a confirmation message before any other message. That confirmation identifies the program, tells you that the messages are recurring and how frequently to expect them, tells you that message and data rates may apply, gives you customer care contact details, and tells you how to opt out.

We keep a record of each opt in, as described in Section 2 above, so that we can demonstrate that you asked to hear from us. Your opt in applies only to the program you signed up for and only to Lakeland Farm and Ranch. It is not transferable or assignable to any other sender or program.

11.3 How to stop receiving messages

You may opt out at any time, whether or not you previously consented. To stop messages, reply STOP to any message you receive from us. We also read and act on ordinary language requests such as stop, end, quit, cancel, unsubscribe, or “please opt me out,” and capitalization, punctuation, and spacing do not affect the validity of your request. You may also opt out by calling or texting 1-866-443-7444, or by emailing info@lakelandfarmandranch.com

When you opt out we send you one final confirmation message for that program and then stop sending you messages under it. If you have separately signed up for a different Lakeland Farm and Ranch messaging program, you can opt out of that one the same way. To rejoin later, simply sign up again.

For help at any time, reply HELP to any message from us, or use the contact details in Section 11.9.

11.4 Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies with the program you signed up for and with your activity, for example the status of an order. Lakeland Farm and Ranch does not charge you for text messages, but message and data rates may apply under your plan with your wireless carrier. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Not all mobile devices or carriers support every messaging feature.

11.5 What we do not do with your mobile information

  • We do not sell, rent, or lease your mobile telephone number.
  • No mobile information, including your mobile number and your consent to receive messages, is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
  • We do not share text messaging originator opt in data or consent with any third party, other than the aggregators, messaging platforms, and telecommunications providers needed to deliver messages you asked to receive. Those providers may use the information only to provide that service to us, and are required to keep it confidential.
  • We do not buy, rent, or use opt in lists compiled by anyone else, and we do not send messages to numbers that have not opted in with us directly.
  • We do not use your messaging information to make decisions about your credit or eligibility for financing.
  • We do not use messaging to collect sensitive information. We will never ask you by text to send a password, a full credit card number, or banking details.

11.6 How long we keep messaging information

We retain records of opt ins and opt outs for as long as we need them to honour your choices and to demonstrate compliance with applicable messaging laws and regulations. Retaining an opt out record is how we make sure you are not contacted again by mistake. We regularly process wireless carrier deactivation data and remove deactivated or reassigned numbers from our messaging lists, so that messages are not sent to someone who did not consent. Message content is retained for as long as needed to service your request and to meet our record keeping obligations.

11.7 Links, telephone numbers, and message content

Any web link in a message from us leads to a Lakeland Farm and Ranch website or to a page we clearly identify as ours, and identifies us as the owner of that site. Where we shorten a link, we use a link shortening service dedicated to our exclusive use so that the destination cannot be confused with another sender. Any telephone number in our messages is a published Lakeland Farm and Ranch number. We do not disguise or misstate who is contacting you.

If you receive a message that appears to come from Lakeland Farm and Ranch but asks for sensitive information, or that links somewhere you do not recognize, please do not respond to it. Report it to your wireless carrier by forwarding it to 7726 (SPAM) and let us know at info@lakelandfarmandranch.com

11.8 Age

Our messaging program is intended for people who are at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in their province, territory, or state. Please do not opt in a mobile number that is not yours or that belongs to a minor.

11.9 Contact and applicable law
